New Stuff?
(Hell yes!)
I was looking thru a snowboarding magazine the other day () and had an idea for a series, so it could be called, of artworks/pieces. It'd take a fair bit of time, and I still have some thinking to do for it, but I'm excited at the prospect of getting back into it. It would also mean trawling thru stock photography, or maybe just using pictures on google or some other sites, because I don't personally have any of the pictures I want to use.

Health
(Note to self: You sound like a broken record on this topic.)
Ah, shit. Let us just say, it went downhill about April 18th ago, and now I'm back on medicine, because I was caught at the 'acute' stage of fuckedupness. Natropath told me that if something goes wrong, I shouldn't wait 2 weeks to see him (like I did this time), otherwise I could be nearing the "too far gone" stage. So, I'm taking medicine again, which will probably last about 2 or 3 weeks itself, but he said after I've finished it I just wait for 1 week before trying other foods again (see "the countdown begins" in my last journal).

Features
(and my top picks thereof.)
graffiti: ~davemass has taken things that I love about street art and put it on a canvas. Lines, colours, abstract and/or repetitive shapes, things with wings, and more to boot, his work is pretty awesome.

poetry: ~dear-lover writes a series of letters towards a lover, often with quirky endings, or lines that make you stop and re-read. I haven't been into poetry in a while, but I'm happy to take it up again when there's pieces like this. Currently, 11 letters.
7Dear Lover, 8Dear Lover, 9Dear Lover, 10Dear Lover, 11Dear Lover.

drawings: ~robotsandrocketships has used her time wisely, with cute drawings of mostly human things. She's a recent addition to my 'watch' list, and I'm glad to say that I think there's potential for great/er things in her gallery.

Be good,

gc.

we checked out the new boards in the city yesterday
it's great cos all last year's stuff is cheap :)
cheap? only if you've never left brisbane. it's all fairly overpriced here, and snowbiz has such a crappy range. and the service isn't that great either. we'll probably end up driving to sydney to get our snow gear (i'm still missing snowboard boots, good pants, etc). what were you checking out snowboards for?

snowboarding! :giggle: aww snowbiz is alright. the guy in there is always nice... he tries to sell me the shiny stuff - like those gold burton bindings, but they're crap :(
unfortunately, snowbiz is all that brisbane has access to, if they want gear bought nearby. which is a pity, but eh that's life when you live in a state that doesn't get snow. what sort of set up are you looking for/at? or, will you end up renting for your snowboarding trip?

g.
probably renting hey, got no cash to put down on something permanent... but i'm looking at a Salomon *shrug* i'm no expert but they're a nice board
yeah, the $2000 odd it takes to get board, boots and bindings is fairly serious if it's a once-off thing =P i'm no expert either, but i'm prepared to put my money on Burton stuff. it's nice, too, knowing that they've been there since snowboarding started, and are still at the forefront of technology. where are you headed, again? falls creek, or nz?

Dear nous-sommes-vous

Thankyou so very much.
I am inspired.

Love from
Ilford
You're also naked, according to your avatar :o

Anyway. Glad to hear that you're inspired. And whatever you're thanking me for, you're most welcome for it. If it's the feature, then it's my pleasure to do that; it's about time I featured some of the good people around here on dA! Like I said, I haven't been into poetry in a while; I haven't dabbled my feet in that pond in some time. The not-too-crappy remenants are still in my gallery.

Have a lovely day.

Sincerely,

Gaby.

Spot on aboot all the board-related talk (I've dropped about $3500->$4K at that store, usually in large amounts involving cash), and they still assume I'm just some kid who'd like to waste some time drooling over snowboards.

*sigh*

On the other hand:

*smooch*
