She took us down to the edge of Decatur

Sun Nov 4, 2007, 7:10 PM
Sufjan Stevens is playing in Brisbane on the 10th of January 2008.
That's right.
Sufjan Stevens. In Brisbane.
:excited:
Tickets go on sale on the 16th of November.

Interpol is also playing in Brisbane in 2008. (I'm way more excited about Sufjan Stevens.)

Yesterday I purchased an Apple NoteBook. It should be arriving in about a week. I've never had my very own computer, let alone a laptop; I'm excited!

I'm getting my motorbike license this Friday, and Godzilla is soon to pass her roadworthy test. Thus I shall have the method and the means for my very own transport. It shall be interesting, and liberating.

When Tess had passed over the crest of the hill he turned to go his own way, and did not know that he loved her still.

Haha, thanks :) I'm sure we will be!

Yep :)

And, I've been saving to get that NoteBook. It's main excuse is that I'm [planning to be] going to TAFE next year, thus will need a computer. The other excuse is that I want a computer of my own, I want some vectoring program so I can get back into vectoring other people's cute cartoons, and all that jazz.

Oh yes that's right, I miss your vectors! :(

Must've cost you a couple of grand...? :|

I miss my vectors, too :( I've been looking at getting some sort program once the computer comes. Adobe Illustrator CS3? Expensive. The Academic version? Still expensive ($333) seeing as I'll probably be using it mostly for mucking around. There are freeware programs online, but I guess it'll be a matter of trialing them

I've still currently got CS2, but CS3 is so excellent...the toolbar layout is much more convenient. I've only used Photoshop CS3 but I assume Illustrator CS3 would've been designed in a similar fashion. I think I'll have to do some illegal downloading... :shh:

I forgot to mention re: price for NoteBook. Because of student/educational discount, the laptop + iWork (Word, Excel and Powerpoint equivalents) was just under $2,100. I got extra RAM (2GB instead of 1GB) which added $200 to my price. I feel that it'll be worth it; slow-to-respond computers really annoy me!

As for Photoshop/Illustrator/etc, I used to use Photoshop 7 for my vectors. I trialled Illustrator once and found it really confusing, but surely I could learn with time.

Unfortunately I can't transfer my old Photoshop to this new computer, as I only had the Windows version! And I'd have to spend a fair bit of money before I could run a Windows program on a Mac. Even then, I think I'd rather switch to Illustrator, which seems vector-orientated, instead of Photoshop, which seems to have vectors as an interesting side note.

Hmmpf! I shall have to wait til the computer actually arrives before I can go anywhere with all of these thoughts!

Very very true I completely forgot about the Mac compatibility factor. Illustrator would probably be worth it but you're right - it really IS confusing, because it's terms and all its layout it's completely different to Photoshop...so it threw me off a bit, I thought it'd make all this vector stuff easier but it just made it quite difficult, so I sort of gave up :giggle: But I still use it when I want to make really cool digital signatures using the mouse, or like nice curvey lines, etc. Just basic stuff. :)

I just had my last ITS exam - LAST YEAR 12 EXAM EVER, I am so happy. I had to write a whole page about RAM today. But I'm glad it's something I'll have to use in real life at least. Yeah, I HATE slow computers as well, but luckily my computer isn't that slow even with 1GB RAM still. :)

I FOUND MY GRADUATION DRESS!! It's simple just like you suggested, not so formal so I can still wear it whenever even after grad. :) Not plain enough for me to not be able to dress it up, but still good enough for me to wear to grad. That, coupled with make-up, painted nails, and good hair...it'll be cool. Plenty of photos to come with all that. :boogie:
